Complaints on US satellite TV Al-Hurra

Palestinian journalist Radio Sawa has sued Al-Hurra, an American satellite television network.

NOURNEWS- Raeda Hamra, a Jordanian Palestinian journalist and presenter working for Radio Sawa (sponsored by the US government), has filed a lawsuit against the American network Al-Hurra, alleging discrimination against her for religious reasons and wearing the Hijab accused.

According to Al-Hurra journalists, Hamra has accused Al-Hurra's management of discrimination, saying the administration has barred her from performing on television due to her hijab and barred her from appearing in front of Al-Hurra's camera.

This happened two years ago when preparations were made for a new start on Al-Hurra Network, and Nart Buran, a member of the Jordanian media, took over the management of Al-Hurra News.

Hamra accuses him of not wanting Boran to appear in front of the camera, and even forbids Hamra from taking the test to take the opportunity to compete.

Although Hamra has repeatedly complained to Alberto Fernandez, director of the mbn network, which is overseen by both Sawa Radio and Al-Hurra Network, his efforts have been in vain and he has appealed to the judiciary.

The US judiciary is expected to review Hamra's case in the coming weeks and announce the verdict within six months.

Fernandez, a close ally of the Trump administration, heads the mbn, which is funded by the US Congress.

Jordan's Nart Buran is working as the director of Abu Dhabi's state-run International Media Investment Company, which operates Sky News satellite television.

Five years ago, Raedeh Hamra joined the Sawa radio host in Washington. He was previously a radio correspondent in Jordan and worked as a producer and presenter of documentaries on Jordan's Roya channel.
