The Afghan government has called for a ceasefire with the Taliban

The Afghan government has once again called on the Taliban to call a ceasefire, saying it needed a ceasefire during the outbreak.

NOURNEWS- The Afghan government has said there is a regional and global consensus on a ceasefire in Afghanistan, and the Taliban must agree to a humanitarian ceasefire.

In a news conference on Monday, presidential spokesman Sediq Siddiqui again called on the Taliban to use humanitarian fire to counter the Corona virus.

Siddiqui said it was time for the Taliban to take the coronavirus seriously and stop denying it. The Corona virus poses a serious challenge to Afghanistan, and if violence by the Taliban continues, the crisis over the Corona virus will escalate and the Taliban will be held accountable.

He said there was a regional and global consensus for a humanitarian ceasefire in Afghanistan, and that the whole world and the region were calling on the Taliban to cease fire.

A presidential spokesman also said that the escalation of Taliban attacks in recent weeks has disappointed the Afghan people in peace, but that peace is still a top priority for the government.
