Ebrahim Azizi wrote on his X account on Saturday that the “maximum pressure” policy against Iran has failed and that its architects will regret it more severely this time.
“The designers of pressure campaigns must be ready to pay a heavier price than before,” he warned.
The warning came after the UN Security Council on Friday voted against a draft resolution that would have permanently lifted sanctions linked to Iran’s nuclear program.
In a statement, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the move amounted to “an unlawful, unjustified and provocative act” that undermines ongoing diplomatic processes.
Azizi underlined that the Islamic Republic has always been committed to dialogue and constructive engagement, but some powers have closed the door to negotiations and chosen pressure and confrontation.
This choice, he said, will not bring them closer to their goals and will deepen their isolation and ensure their failure.
He added that recent experience shows maximum pressure against the Iranian nation has failed, producing only greater costs for its enemies.
The Iranian people have never retreated in the face of threats and pressures, and that steadfastness is the primary reason hostile policies have failed.
Azizi stressed that Iran views negotiation as a tool of strength but will not allow its goodwill to be exploited for excessive demand and noncommitment.
