The great Iranian nation will never forget the clear violations and the complicity of the IAEA chief Rafael Grossi with the criminal Israeli regime, the statement reads.
In the statement regarding the resumption of the IAEA’s activities in Iran, the Iranian lawmakers said that the IAEA Director-General, contrary to his legal duty which required him to strongly condemn the attacks on the centers of the peaceful nuclear activities of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the United States and the Israeli regime, chose to keep silent and not to fulfill his legal responsibility.
They condemned Grossi’s act, who is an element of the United States and the Israeli regime, and strongly urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran to strictly adhere to the Parliament’s law regarding the suspension of cooperation with the IAEA.
On June 2025, members of Parliament approved a bill mandating the administration to suspend cooperation with the IAEA.
The bill said that given the violation of the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the Israeli regime and the United States in targeting the country’s peaceful nuclear facilities and endangering its interests, and in accordance with Article 60 of the 1969 Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, the administration is obligated to immediately suspend all its cooperation with the IAEA under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and its safeguards.
It said the suspensions should remain in effect until certain conditions are met, including the following:
1. Ensuring full respect for the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as the security of nuclear facilities and nuclear scientists, based on the framework of the United Nations Charter, as determined by the Supreme National Security Council.
2. Ensuring the full realization of the inherent rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran to enjoy all rights stipulated in Article IV of the NPT, particularly uranium enrichment within the country, as determined by the Supreme National Security Council.
The decision followed U.S. strikes on several Iranian nuclear sites, in violation of international law, including the United Nations Charter.
