“The only thing that can lead us to success is national unity and cohesion, and anything that undermines this unity is undesirable,” the president said on Monday, emphasizing the importance of maintaining that unity in the face of foreign aggression.
“If we are united, enemies and the Zionist regime will not dare attack us.”
Pezeshkian also stressed the importance of unity with neighboring countries in the wake of attempts by the United States and Israel to pit Muslims against one another, saying that disputes should be avoided and neighboring countries must be treated friendly.
“Our neighbors are our brothers. Muslims should stand united against enemies, and we must all join hands in solidarity,” the Iranian president said.
Pezeshkian made the comments while speaking at the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic.
The president and his cabinet members paid a visit to the holy shrine, located south of the capital, Tehran, to pay allegiance to the ideals of Imam Khomeini. They did so on the occasion of Administration Week that started on Sunday.
Elsewhere in his remarks, President Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of serving people with fairness.
“If we act with fairness in our behavior, we will succeed in serving the people and society. We are all here to be servants of the people.”
