This Tuesday morning, a meeting on "Adherence to International Law and the United Nations Charter to Ensure International Peace and Security" was held on the sidelines of the Sixth Conference of Speakers of the World Parliaments, at the initiative of the Islamic Republic of Iran and with the participation of representatives of countries in Geneva.
The following is the full speech of Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf:
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Honorable Representatives,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
At the outset, on behalf of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran, I would like to sincerely appreciate your valuable presence in this important session.
Today, we have gathered in this hall not merely to exchange words, but to raise the flag of justice in the face of a storm of oppression that is dragging humanity toward the edge of the abyss. In Gaza, in this wounded corner of the world, a catastrophe is unfolding that can only be compared to the darkest pages in human history. We are witnessing the emergence of the Nazis of the 21st century— a regime that, with chilling calm and deliberate planning, is carrying out crimes as if they’ve emerged from the most horrifying nightmares of history.
The apartheid regime of Israel is orchestrating a genocide—one that not only targets Palestinians but ridicules the very notion of human civilization.
This speech is a cry against genocide and a call for global awakening. Today, I speak on behalf of the Iranian nation and in the name of every living conscience on this planet to say:
The Nazis of the 21st century must be stopped before humanity is permanently drowned in this whirlpool of injustice.
Today, I speak not only on behalf of Iran but for every human being who refuses to let silence be an accomplice to genocide. Let us address the roots, consequences, and driving factors of this catastrophe, and take action before history condemns us.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Gaza today is not merely a land—it is a slaughterhouse, a crime scene. A slaughterhouse built with horrifying intent and awareness, devouring humanity within its bounds.
What is happening in Gaza is not a war; it is a systematic massacre.
The shocking report by Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur, titled “Anatomy of a Genocide” drives a dagger into the heart of the global conscience.
Israel is pursuing a deliberate policy of complete annihilation of the Palestinian people. Over 70% of Gaza’s homes have been destroyed; hospitals and schools have been turned to ashes; and tens of thousands have been buried under relentless bombings.
These numbers are not just statistics—they are human names, lives, and dreams erased by bullets and fire.
Hunger in Gaza is a weapon of war. Mothers search with empty hands for a morsel to feed their children. Children fall asleep with empty stomachs, awaiting the end of this nightmare—many never wake up.
Israeli snipers, with diabolical precision, hunt children—bullets aimed not at enemies, but at small hearts and minds. Neighborhoods vanish in a blink. Bombs rain from the sky, echoing Nazi attacks—but this time, not on European soil, but on a land that has forcibly fallen under the control of 21st-century Nazis.
The UN report titled “Beyond What the Human Heart Can Bear” reveals crimes so heinous that even imagining them is agonizing: systematic sexual violence, rape as a tool to crush the spirit of a nation.
The report “Genocide as Settler Colonial Erasure” exposes the ultimate goal of these criminals: the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, a Zionist dream soaked in blood and tears.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ordered the criminal, child-killing Israeli regime to halt its crimes. The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu—the greatest killer and criminal of our time. Yet these rulings, in the face of Israel’s Nazi-like impunity, remain lifeless pieces of paper.
Amnesty International speaks of mass graves and torture chambers—scenes that seem torn from the darkest chapters of history and placed in Gaza’s hospitals and refugee camps.
How does this crime continue without end? The answer lies in the deadly silence that has spread like a plague—from Washington to London, and from Paris to Berlin.
When former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant refers to Palestinians as “human animals,” and the world remains silent, while in practice we are witnessing legitimizing the same dehumanizing language.
Bombs rain down on schools and hospitals, and the global powers continue their political, economic, military, and media support for this regime.
Excellencies,
In this sea of injustice, the Islamic Republic of Iran stands like a steadfast rock.
As you are all aware, on June 13, 2025, in the midst of diplomatic negotiations, the Zionist regime—with the coordination and support of the United States—launched direct attacks on vital infrastructure of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including peaceful, IAEA-monitored nuclear facilities, in blatant violation of international law.
In these attacks, approximately 1,100 innocent civilians—including 14 prominent scientists and dozens of women and children—were martyred. Thousands were injured. In one incident alone, 15 members of a single family were killed in an airstrike. Even hospitals and prisons were not spared; 70 people died in an attack on Evin Prison in Tehran.
These acts were a clear violation of Article 2 of the UN Charter, the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions, the Human Rights Covenant, and UN Security Council resolutions on the prohibition of force and the protection of civilians.
These attacks were not only an assault on Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, but also a grave warning of efforts to destabilize regional and global security.
The inaction of international bodies in the face of such crimes raises serious questions about the legitimacy and effectiveness of global peacekeeping institutions, especially the UN Security Council.
However, we place no trust in shaky institutions, nor in the empty promises of great powers. When the Zionist regime—these Nazis of our time—invaded our soil, our response was not mere words, but reciprocal action within the framework of legitimate self-defense—a response that brought them to their knees and forced them to seek a ceasefire.
This was not just a military victory; it was a testament to our iron will, and a message to the world that against the Nazis of the 21st century, only power and resistance can break the chains of oppression.
We defend Gaza, not for geography, but for humanity; not for politics, but for conscience.
We salute all countries that did not remain silent in the face of these crimes—and the world will forever remember their integrity.
The crime in Gaza is not just a regional crisis; it is a warning bell for the entire world.
If the Nazis of the 21st century triumph in Gaza, this fire will spread to other parts of the world.
If today we do not stand against the criminal, apartheid regime of Israel, tomorrow other nations will be next.
History is full of examples where unrestrained oppression has swept through everything like a raging wildfire.
Gaza today is the frontline of this battle—a battle between humanity and barbarism, between conscience and crime.
Every moment of delay means more death and more complicity in the crimes of these 21st-century Nazis.
