The top general made the remarks in a phone conversation with Major General Emomali Sobirzoda, the Minister of Defense of Tajikistan, according to a press release by the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces on Tuesday.
Mousavi expressed gratitude for Tajikistan’s support of Iran during the 12-day imposed war which Israel launched on June 13 and the U.S. joined by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites on June 22.
He said the war proved to the world that the U.S. and Israel, despite ignoring international norms and using their full power against Iran’s Armed Forces, failed to achieve their objectives and suffered heavy blows, ultimately prompting them to request a ceasefire to save the Israeli regime.
The top general, however, added that Iran remains prepared in the face of new aggression by Tel Aviv and Washington.
“We have absolutely no trust in the promises and commitments of the Americans and the Zionists, and we are fully prepared to firmly confront any potential new evil act from them,” the top Iranian general said.
For his part, Sobirzoda said that the martyrdom of the Iranian people and senior commanders is a great sorrow for the government of Tajikistan, and he expressed his sympathy to Major General Mousavi.
Referring to the deep cultural, linguistic, and historical commonalities between the two countries, Sobirzoda said that relations between Tajikistan and Iran are rooted in amity.
The people and government of Tajikistan regard the Iranian people as friends and brothers, he noted.
