The silence of the International Atomic Energy Agency in the face of direct Israeli attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities signals a complete departure from its technical and impartial mandate. According to Article 56 of the Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions, attacks on nuclear facilities are considered war crimes. Nevertheless, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi not only remained silent in the face of Iran’s repeated warnings but also fueled distrust by issuing biased reports. Worse still, the agency’s possible intelligence cooperation with Iran’s enemies in the assassination of nuclear scientists places it squarely as a partner in crime.
UN Security Council: Guardian of Peace or Protector of Criminals?
Instead of taking preventive action in response to Israel’s explicit threats, the UN Security Council convened only after Iran issued a defensive response. This behavior has raised fundamental questions about the Council’s true mission. While China and Russia condemned Israel’s actions, the US, UK, Germany, and France distorted the facts, accusing Iran of aggression and ignoring its legitimate right to self-defence. Such conduct has further exposed the Council’s politicized and biased nature, casting serious doubt on its credibility.
From Political Resolutions to a Green Light for Genocide
The joint move by Europe and the United States to adopt a resolution against Iran at the IAEA Board of Governors—without any reference to Israeli threats—is not only unjust, but also aligned with Tel Aviv’s objectives. This pattern has encouraged the Israeli regime to continue its assaults and commit further crimes. In response, Iran has moved to scale back cooperation with the Agency and accelerate development of a new generation of nuclear activities. Under such conditions, the Agency’s claim to assess damages or increase oversight no longer holds any legitimacy.
A Warning to the West: Accomplices to Crime Will Not Be Spared
The West cannot support the Israeli regime on one hand and expect security and calm for its bases and interests in the region on the other. The conduct of Western allies of Zionism has not only undermined their international legitimacy, but also defined lawful military targets for Iran. If international structures prove incapable of fulfilling their role in maintaining global peace, the language of diplomacy will no longer suffice—threats will be met with strength and deterrence.
