Hosseini, competing in the 64kg youth category, secured a silver medal in the clean and jerk with a lift of 111kg on her second attempt. She also claimed bronze for her overall total of 197kg, placing third in the world.
The 17-year-old’s performance earned Iran its first medals of the championships and marked only the second time a female Iranian weightlifter has medaled at the youth world level, following Yekta Jamali’s breakthrough in 2021.
In addition to her podium finishes, Hosseini broke all three national youth records in her weight class. She improved her own snatch record by 4kg to 86kg, lifted 10kg more in the clean and jerk to surpass the previous mark of 101kg held by Ghazaleh Hosseini, and raised the total national record by 16kg.
