On the Brink of a Major Explosion: Israel Has Lost the Game

NOURNEWS – The resistance movements in Gaza and Lebanon have firmly rejected any proposals for disarmament, stating unequivocally that negotiations regarding their weapons are off the table.

In the face of Western pressure and threats from the Israeli regime, these groups have emphasized the importance of maintaining their deterrent power and have declared their readiness to respond decisively. These positions are a strategic reaction to repeated ceasefire violations and ongoing occupation policies.

In recent days, significant developments have taken place in Gaza and Lebanon regarding the stances of resistance groups, from Hamas in Gaza to Hezbollah in Lebanon. These changes reflect not only a shift in rhetoric and behavior but also a strategic response to external pressures and the repeated breaches of ceasefires by the Israeli regime.

One of Hamas’s latest positions has been a strong rejection of any plans for disarming Palestinian groups. Mahmoud Mardawi, a senior Hamas leader, stated in an interview with Al-Aqsa TV that the weapons of the resistance are an inseparable part of Palestinian identity and that under no circumstances will they be relinquished. He also made it clear that there will be no negotiations regarding the armament of Palestinian resistance groups. These statements are particularly significant against the backdrop of Israel's repeated attacks on Gaza and its ongoing efforts to forcibly displace Palestinians.

In Lebanon, Sheikh Naim Qassem, Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, dismissed claims that the resistance is weak, asserting that any attempt to disarm Hezbollah is not only impossible but would amount to serving the interests of the Israeli regime. He stressed that Hezbollah will continue its role as long as the Lebanese state is unable to fully protect its land and people, and that no one is permitted to interfere with Hezbollah's weaponry. Qassem’s comments, which have taken on added weight following the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, reaffirm Hezbollah's commitment to the path of resistance and the preservation of its deterrent capabilities.

Israeli Regime: Ceasefire Violations and Continued Occupation

These developments come as the Israeli regime continues its violations of ceasefires and escalates its attacks. In Gaza, beyond military assaults, the regime employs humanitarian pressure as a tool of collective punishment, using starvation and disease as weapons of war and pushing for the forced displacement of Palestinians to other countries within and beyond the region. These actions underline the extreme nature of Israel’s occupation policies. In Lebanon, too, the regime continues to kill civilians through the occupation of strategic areas and ongoing bombardments. These actions not only violate international law but also reflect Israel's determination to entrench its occupation across the region.

As the Israeli regime persists in threatening resistance groups, fear of intensified retaliation from Gaza and Lebanon is mounting. Israel’s military actions have only exacerbated tensions and human suffering, further demonstrating its failure to achieve its objectives through diplomacy.

Western Reactions: Performative Diplomacy and Support for Israel

While Western countries outwardly criticize Israel’s occupation policies and make formal efforts to establish ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon, their practical actions reveal tacit support for Israel. By amplifying other issues—such as indirect negotiations between Iran and the US, or the war in Ukraine—they attempt to divert global attention from developments in Palestine and Lebanon, all while leveraging military and economic tools to pressure the resistance.

In Lebanon, some internal factions are pushing to limit the weapons of resistance and grant the Lebanese Army sole control over arms, effectively aiming to weaken Hezbollah. In Palestine, Western nations have conditioned the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and an end to the war on the disarmament of resistance groups. These pressures clearly reflect Western efforts to undermine the resistance’s deterrent power and facilitate Israel’s expansionist goals.

Outlook: Readiness for a Decisive Response

Given the external pressures and repeated ceasefire violations by Israel, it appears that the strategic patience of the resistance groups—particularly Hamas and Hezbollah—is wearing thin. Leaders from both groups have stated explicitly that the resistance’s weapons are non-negotiable and that any attempt at disarmament will be met with a firm and forceful response.

In recent reports, media sources have stated that the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, conducted an operation against Israeli forces, killing one soldier and wounding five others. These attacks, following Israel’s threats to disarm the resistance, signal a high state of readiness and resolve to confront any further acts of occupation.

In Lebanon, too, Hezbollah continues to pursue a policy of strategic patience, warning that any attempts to undermine its position will be met with strong reactions. As Sheikh Naim Qassem put it, “We will not allow anyone to disarm Hezbollah or the resistance,” underscoring Hezbollah’s unwavering determination to preserve its weapons and confront threats from the Israeli regime and its Western backers.
