Rome likely to host next round of Iran-US indirect talks

Some media have reported that the second round of Iran-US indirect negotiations will be held in the Italian capital of Rome on Saturday, while the spokesman of Iranian foreign minister has cast doubt on that.

In a report on the next round of talks between Iran and the US, the national Iranian TV known as IRIB has said that "The second round of Iran-US nuclear talks will be held next Saturday in Rome, the capital of Italy."

But, the national Iranian TV might have cited a report by the American website Axios.

However, shortly after that news was published, Esmaeil Baghaei, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said in a post on X that "Prior to this, the Western media outlets had reported that the location of the upcoming Iran-US talks would be changed to Rome."

"Such a move (switching location of the talks) could be seen as a lack of seriousness and goodwill."
