Araqchi says leaked chat of Trump's officials on Yemen attack shows the U.S.’s disregard for human life

Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has rebuked the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump over a group chat among senior American officials regarding the country's attacks on Yemen.

“People around the globe – including Americans – now see how U.S. officials look at world affairs,” Araqchi wrote on his X account on Thursday, in reaction to the publication of leaked discussions of Trump’s aides, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth about the invasion of Yemen.

“Some (people) highlight severe incompetence and, more importantly, total disregard for human like in (the U.S.) decision making”, he added.

The top diplomat further said: As for Iran, we see perhaps another reason to take the recent political overtures with a huge grains of salt.

On Wednesday, The Atlantic published the group chat shared by American security and defense officials on the Signal messaging app and was accidently texted to Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of the magazine.

The chat included precise information about weapons packages, targets, and timing prior to American warplanes even took off to drop bombs on Yemen.

The Trump administration has sought to downplay the significance of the texts but the issue has raised serious concerns about security protocols.
