Speaking on Wednesday, February 12, at the inauguration ceremony of the second phase of the access road to the Negin Port Complex in Bushehr, Eslami highlighted the significant role of port development in the economic growth of Bushehr Province.
He described the expansion of Bushehr Port as an environmentally friendly initiative that strengthens the city’s infrastructure.
Eslami, also the Vice President, noted that the access road to the Negin Port Complex is a priority for the residents living near Bushehr Port.
He expressed hope that the final phase of the road construction would be completed soon.
He reiterated the strategic goal of transforming Bushehr into a third-generation port, stressing that the Ports and Maritime Organization is fully committed to achieving this objective.
Director-General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Bushehr Province, Mohammad Shakibi-Nasab, stated that the total length of the access road to the Negin Port Complex is 9.4 kilometers, with 6.5 kilometers already completed. The remaining 2.3-kilometer section, part of the second phase, has been paved, with road markings, traffic signs, and street lighting installed. The last 2 kilometers are currently undergoing substructure work and will soon be ready for use.
The second phase of the access road, measuring 2,350 meters, was inaugurated in the presence of the Vice President and head of the Atomic Energy Organization. This project addresses the transportation needs of residents of Shif Island and businesses within the port complex, reflecting a commitment to social responsibility.
During his visit to Bushehr, Eslami accompanied President Masoud Pezeshkian and members of the administration for the commemoration of the Islamic Revolution’s anniversary. Several projects were inaugurated during the visit, with a focus on enhancing the maritime economy in the region.
Eslami attended the provincial administrative council meeting to review prioritized issues raised by local authorities, aiming for effective follow-up and resolution.
He highlighted Bushehr’s strategic importance due to its coastal resources, emphasizing the province’s role in the maritime economy—a priority area underscored by the Leader of Islamic Revolution Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The seventh development plan includes initiatives to expand maritime activities and address challenges faced by seafarers.
The Vice President also paid tribute to the martyrs at Behesht Sadegh Cemetery upon his arrival in Bushehr. His two-day visit included meetings with local communities, an inspection of the Bushehr Ports Administration Tower, the inauguration of the Negin Port access road, participation in the provincial council meeting, and visits with war veterans and the families of martyrs.
