Nuclear industry creates power and deterrence at international level: Kamalvandi

NOURNEWS – Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesperson for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), said that the nuclear industry has the potential to create power and deterrence at the international level, adding that enemies do not want Iran to have a complete and indigenous nuclear industry.

Speaking at the political conference of the commanders of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, which was held Monday at the Kosar Conference Center of the Army's Ideological and Political Organization, Kamalvandi said, "Power in the international world today is distributed based on the balance of power and realism."

He added, "The religion of Islam has long paid attention to the balance of power and considered power as a basis and a factor for creating deterrence."

Kamalvandi stated that in the world we live in, we are always witnessing a constant struggle between right and wrong, adding, "The Islamic Revolution of Iran created the concept of self-confidence among Iranians, and if we believe in this self-confidence, we can solve many of our country's problems."

Kamalvandi, referring to the components of power, noted that the nuclear industry is one of the few areas that has the capacity of all components of power.

He referred to the views of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, said that the nuclear industry is the honor of the country and brings power to the country.

He added that progress in the nuclear industry, as an important and interdisciplinary technology, is a prerequisite for progress in various sciences.

He continued, "This industry has many effects on people's lives, such as its role in the energy and electricity production, medicine, agriculture, environmental protection, and so on."

Kamalvandi stated that the nuclear industry has the potential to create power and deterrence at the international level, adding that with this in mind, the nuclear industry has very high capacity, and in the past years, enemies have tried to weaken Iran in this field and involve the country in international issues. However, a country that can have a say in various fields of this industry is not an ordinary country, and for this reason, enemies do not want Iran to have this industry completely and indigenously.

Eslami: Nuclear industry is ready to serve the wire and cable industry of Iran

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami, at the second biennial conference of the wire, cable, and related industries in Tehran, said that the country's nuclear industry is ready to serve the wire and cable industry of Iran, and the capacity created at the radiation site in Qazvin province will greatly help this sector.

The second biennial conference of the wire, cable, and related industries was held on January 20, 2025, with the presence of a large number of entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and private sector companies active in this field in Tehran.

Eslami, as one of the invited speakers at the ceremony, said on the sidelines of this event about the role of the nuclear industry in the wire and cable industry and the launch of the radiation processing complex in Qazvin province, "Based on the comprehensive strategic document of the country's nuclear industry, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has started a special effort to develop its services and bring this technology to all sectors of society."

He added that by irradiating wires and cables, we will witness the creation of added value.

He stated that we have started investing in this sector and technology, and our service delivery and support for this sector began with the invitation of the active community in this field and also the country's wire and cable association.

He continued, "In the process of launching the Qazvin province radiation center, planning was done in such a way that some sections would use it experimentally to observe the differences, and also the leading sections that had customers in this field would irradiate their products in this center."

Eslami, emphasizing that the country's nuclear industry is ready to serve the wire and cable industry of Iran, said that the created capacity can help expand radiation services to this sector.

He added, "In this path, we are alongside the country's wire and cable industry, and to whatever extent they need to receive services, we have the capability to expand radiation services and support."

Eslami continued, "One of the services that this field can provide to the wire and cable industry is related to the construction sector. In the path of development in various countries of the world, irradiated wires and cables are used, which are not prone to fire."

Eslami, emphasizing that the field of wire and cable irradiation is usable in various industries, including automotive, shipbuilding, and aviation, said, "This capacity leads to lightness and safety enhancement in these sectors and has added value."

He, in continuation, regarding the capacity of the Qazvin radiation center to provide services to various industries, said, "Regarding the capacity of the Qazvin radiation center, through a powerful electron accelerator, we will try to cover and provide maximum services."

He concluded, "However, if there is a demand, there is a possibility to increase the capacity because our goal is to create an umbrella that has comprehensive coverage and, if necessary, to be a supporter alongside various industries in this sector and in the field of radiation."
