The office said on Wednesday that 1,091 infants have been killed since Israel launched its campaign of genocide in the besieged Palestinian territory on October 7, 2023.
At least 238 of those babies were killed just after they were born.
According to Gaza health officials, Israel has slaughtered more than 17,600 children since October 2023 – one child every 30 minutes.
Palestinian health authorities and rights groups have warned that more babies are losing their lives due to a severe temperature drop and lack of shelter in Gaza.
On Tuesday, Sila, a newborn baby, died of hypothermia in a tent. She was one of seven infants who have died from hypothermia in recent days.
UNICEF says aid workers are delivering winter clothes and blankets, but the needs of families are immense.
The UN children’s agency says the kids of Gaza “need a ceasefire now.”
Israel has massacred over 45,500 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023.
The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics says Gaza has lost about 6 percent of its population due to Israel’s campaign of genocide.
