Role of Tahrir al-Sham in West's Propaganda War Against Iran

Behind Anti-Iranian Claims of Tahrir al-Sham

Role of Tahrir al-Sham in West's Propaganda War Against Iran

NOURNEWS – Tahrir al-Sham's baseless claims against Iran reveal more about their eagerness to please the US and the Zionist regime than any sense of nationalism or desire for stability.

Tahrir al-Sham, still designated as a terrorist organization by the UN and Western countries, is attempting to rebrand itself through political theater and a change of image. A key part of this effort is the anti-Iranian rhetoric of its officials, which has been eagerly amplified by Western media.

Tahrir al-Sham's Anti-Iranian Claims

The foreign minister of the Syrian interim government, with baseless claims, accuses Iran of creating chaos in Syria and invokes the country's "national sovereignty." Yet, Iran's advisory presence in Syria played a vital role in defeating terrorist groups like Daesh and Al-Nusra, and the "national sovereignty" they speak of today is the result of Iran's support for the Syrian government in its fight against terrorism. Evidence suggests that if it weren't for the actions of the resistance front led by Iran, these terrorists would have threatened the security of the region and even Europe.

Attempt to Hide Terrorist Crimes

The recent claims by Tahrir al-Sham and its affiliated media outlets are primarily an effort to divert public attention from the group's terrorist nature and its crimes in Syria, which remain fresh in the memory of the region's people. The aim of this propaganda war is to weaken Iran's role in supporting the resistance axis and fighting against occupation and terrorism.

Change of Appearance, Change of Nature?

Tahrir al-Sham leaders, including Golani, are trying to present a new image by changing their attire and adopting political rhetoric. However, these superficial changes do not alter the group's terrorist nature or its ties to certain foreign powers. Even the West, which has used the group as a tool to achieve its goals in Syria, continues to list it as a terrorist organization.

The fact that the West has set million-dollar rewards for Tahrir al-Sham leaders reveals a contradiction in their policies. From this perspective, the words of Tahrir al-Sham's foreign minister are less a diplomatic stance of a country's representative and more an open threat from a terrorist group against an independent nation.

Neglecting Real Occupation

While Israel, Turkey, and the US occupy parts of Syria's territory, Tahrir al-Sham, instead of addressing these blatant transgressions, makes baseless claims against Iran. This behavior is nothing short of colluding with the occupiers and weakening Syrian unity.

This contradiction becomes more evident when the Tahrir al-Sham interim government engages in population displacement and altering the ethnic composition in various parts of Syria, behavior that reveals their exclusivist and anti-popular nature.

West and Fate of Terrorist Groups

History has shown that the West supports terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda, Daesh, and Tahrir al-Sham only as long as its interests are served. These groups, after their expiration date, become victims of Western policies. Historical examples of US treatment of Daesh in Iraq and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan paint a similar future for Tahrir al-Sham.

The US never considers such groups as partners or even collaborators but rather exploits them instrumentally and ultimately sacrifices them for its objectives.

What Tahrir al-Sham presents today as the new rulers of Syria reveals more about their eagerness to please the US and the Zionist regime than any sense of nationalism or desire for stability. These actions will come at a heavy cost, as the Syrian people have repeatedly demonstrated their resilience against occupiers and foreign agents.

Despite these efforts, the resistance axis will not only maintain its positions but also strengthen its role in combating occupation and terrorism through the unity of regional nations. The fate of the region will not be determined by terrorist groups and their Western backers but by freedom-seeking nations and popular resistance.
