Eslami: Zionists have rendered United Nations ineffective

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) stated, the Zionists have rendered the United Nations, which has always strived for human rights and justice, ineffective.

Mohammad Eslami, on December 17, during a ceremony commemorating the martyrs of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm and the martyrs of resistance, added, a country that is able to maintain its independence and progress will be one that can pursue its development without dependence on others, especially the hegemonic system. If a country lacks modern science and technology, it will undoubtedly suffer damage. The proud armed forces of the country may be caught off guard if they are not equipped with advanced sciences and technologies.

He stated, since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, our country has always faced sanctions. These sanctions have been imposed due to non-compliance with the hegemonic system and standing firm on the principles of the 1979 Revolution, including independence, freedom, and the Islamic Republic.

Eslami continued, advanced sciences and technologies in the fields of nuclear energy, aerospace, information technology, nanotechnology, and biotechnology are power-generating and sovereignty-creating, and are usually monopolized by the hegemonic system. Entering these areas for independent countries is often accompanied by conditions. However, our country, whose people have paid a heavy price for independence, freedom, and the Islamic Republic, cannot be subservient to the hegemonic system or accept their conditions.

Zionists rendered United Nations ineffective

In another part of his remarks, Eslami stated, this criminal nation (the Zionists) has effectively rendered the United Nations ineffective; an institution that has always fought for human rights and justice. What stance do international organizations, which have repeatedly taken positions against the Islamic Republic, have in the face of these crimes? What role can they play? Can we place our hopes in the United Nations and the Security Council?

He added, in the recent voting at the United Nations General Assembly, 167 countries voted in favor of the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent government, while only the United States and at most five other countries opposed it. Nevertheless, today, this limited number plays a decisive role in international affairs, and the votes of the majority of the world's countries are effectively disregarded.

Eslami stated, in such circumstances, the front of truth and justice, which has always stood against this current, has a clear duty. This front will not only not be silenced but will continue its path with greater power and determination to hold these criminals accountable.

Hegemonic countries are trying to hinder our economic growth by restricting advanced technologies

He identified another achievement of nuclear energy as the production of heavy water and added, one of the important applications of this product is in analyzing a drop of blood from newborns. By using kits produced with heavy water, 56 types of metabolic diseases can be identified in infants aged three to seven days. This information helps doctors and parents prevent the progression of diseases with an appropriate nutrition plan. Such advancements have created a significant transformation in public health.

He continued, meanwhile, some countries in the past demanded the cessation of heavy water production in Iran and even proposed the destruction of related facilities. However, today, this very heavy water is one of our most important products, used in various industries, including medicine. For instance, one ton of methanol produced from this technology is worth over $1.2 million, while conventional methanol produced in petrochemicals is priced at less than $500. This price difference indicates the high added value of this technology.

The official added, hegemonic countries are trying to strengthen their economies by restricting advanced technologies in developing countries and hindering our economic growth. However, we must continue on the path of progress with effort and perseverance. Although there are difficulties, with faith in divine blessings and continuous effort, we can overcome these obstacles and achieve greater successes.
