Somewhere between magnifying and undermining threats

Perhaps the most important point the Leader made was his emphasis on the necessity of maintaining, protecting, and ensuring security.

Nournews: A day after Israeli aggression against Iran and a terrorist attack in eastern Iran—both of which resulted in the martyrdom of several security and military personnel in their mission to protect Iran’s safety—the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, addressed a gathering of the families of martyrs and delivered key remarks that can be summarized as follows:

1.Perhaps the most important point the Leader made was his emphasis on the necessity of maintaining, protecting, and ensuring security. Providing security is considered the most fundamental duty of a government and the primary demand of citizens from any ruling system, according to common political literature. The Leader highlighted the foundational importance of security in all areas of society. According to Iran's Supreme Leader, "Only a strong Iran can ensure the country's security and progress." Strengthening Iran in economic, scientific, political, and defensive areas is essential for continued security and advancement. National power is thus the foundation of stable security.

2.  For a strong Iran, security-promoting elements must be strengthened, and threats eliminated. The recent attempted attack highlights various forms of insecurity. As the Leader stated, actions like smuggling, rumors, and cyber-attacks also harm national stability. Addressing these threats requires decisiveness and skill.

3.  Misinterpreting security challenges can endanger the country. Exaggerating or downplaying incidents, like the recent attack, only confuses the public. Leaders should provide clear, realistic information to avoid undermining public trust.

4.  Psychological security is essential. "Soft warfare" seeks to erode public morale and belief. Leaders are accountable for protecting psychological security, as media distortions and misinformation are harmful weapons in today's conflicts.

5.  Israel’s recent attack may have miscalculated, but it is amplified through its media. Iran’s leaders should avoid overreacting or dismissing the incident, instead focusing on the nation's true power. Real victory lies in forcing adversaries to recognize the strength and resilience of the Iranian people.
