BRICS: Iran a member of an emerging block of power

The world in the new century is transitioning away from previous orders and systems, and in the midst of this, a new bloc of power in the form of BRICS has risen to challenge Western hegemony.

Nournews: Iran is an active member of the emerging BRICS power bloc, which has created new opportunities for development in economic, political, and security sectors. BRICS, which has risen in opposition to Western hegemony, symbolizes the new world order.

Iran's official membership in this bloc was confirmed during the 16th BRICS summit, with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in attendance. The summit, held under the slogan "Strengthening Multilateralism for Global Development and Security," was attended by leaders from various countries, including BRICS leaders and international officials.

BRICS has opened a new path for global interactions. Since its emergence, countries like Russia, China, India, Brazil, and South Africa, along with new members like Iran, have resisted Western unilateralism. These countries now make up 40% of the world's population and nearly a quarter of the global GDP. Additionally, BRICS contributes 40% of the world's oil production and 25% of global raw material output, underscoring its growing importance compared to the G7. While the G7's share in the global economy has diminished, BRICS has gradually increased its power, becoming a significant force in economic and security domains.

From an economic perspective, Iran's membership in BRICS can help reduce the pressure of U.S. sanctions. Among BRICS' strategic initiatives are de-dollarization and the creation of a shared payment system. This system is currently being implemented among member states, such as Iran and Russia, and may be expanded to other members. The BRICS Pay platform, designed to facilitate international cooperation and reduce dependency on the dollar, is another important tool of the organization. Additionally, the BRICS New Development Bank is used to facilitate economic exchanges and infrastructure investments among member countries.

From a security standpoint, BRICS aims to diminish the West's exclusive role in regional and global conflicts and establish a multilateral security system. Defense cooperation and the exchange of advanced technologies are also part of BRICS' plans. Geographically, Iran's presence in this bloc offers many advantages. As a crossroads between Asia, Europe, and Africa, and with access to strategic routes such as the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean, Iran provides a prime position for the development of global transportation.

In conclusion, Iran's membership in BRICS not only offers opportunities for economic and security development but also provides a platform for Iran to express its political positions in international forums. Iran can use this platform to oppose the crimes of the Zionist regime and to help end regional violence, contributing to global collective security.
