Nournews: Iranian athlete Sadeq Beit-Sayyah won a gold medal in javelin at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris on Sunday, setting a new Paralympic record. However, according to the event's official website, his medal has been taken away.
The website has yet to announce the reason for his disqualification. However, Ali Asghar Hadizadeh, the caretaker of the Para Athletics National Team, stated that the way Beit-Sayyah expressed his emotions after breaking the record was not well-received by the organizers, who misinterpreted it. It appears that Iranian officials’ explanations have not convinced the organizers, leading to the decision to revoke Beit-Sayyah's gold medal.
In addition to certain gestures made after winning, Beit-Sayyah also displayed a flag with religious symbols to honor Umol-Banin, the mother of Hazrat Abolfazl.
