According to the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Iran exported $48.6 million worth of handicrafts last year. This year, that number jumped to $74.5 million.
The ministry's director general, Farzad Owjani, said the country exported 26 tons of handicrafts between March 21 and June 22. The top exporting provinces were Tehran, Khorasan Razavi, and West Azarbaijan.
Owjani also noted that exports of precious metals, like gold and silver, increased from $13 million to $18 million during the same period.
