Credential of Iran’s president-elect presented to the Leader

According to Article 1 of Iran’s presidential election law, the presidential tenure in Iran is four years, beginning on the date his credential is presented to the Leader.

NOURNEWS: The credential of president-elect Masoud Pezeshkian, which was signed by Iran’s Guardian Council, was presented to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Seyyed Ali Khamenei, on Wednesday.

The credential includes the name of the president and the number of votes he has gained.

The credential is a document attesting to the accuracy of the election. The members of Iran’s Guardian Council sign it and send it to the Leader.

The date for the implementation of the president’s decree, or “Tanfiz,” will be set during a ceremony following the signing of the credential. The date for the ceremony will be announced by the Leader’s office.

After the Tanfiz ceremony, the president will attend the parliament and take an oath, called “Tahlif.” He must take the oath before the members of the Guardian Council, the head of the judiciary, and other military and civilian officials.
