A “Trojan Horse” named temporary truce

Israel's withdrawal from Gaza, the return of 1500,000 displaced Palestinians to their homes, cessation of assaults, and the provision of relief and reconstruction of war-torn areas were Hamas' only conditions during the negotiations.

NOURNEWS: Israel regime’s firm insistence on a "decisive attack" on Rafah hampered the attainment of a genuine truce deal during the negotiations in Cairo.

Israel's withdrawal from Gaza, the return of 1500,000 displaced Palestinians to their homes, cessation of assaults, and the provision of relief and reconstruction of war-torn areas were Hamas' only conditions during the negotiations. However, the Israeli regime not only refused to recognize the most basic rights of Gazans but also insisted on intensifying attacks on Rafah just a day after the truce.

Tel Aviv believes that an attack on Rafah will result in one of two pre-planned outcomes: either the massacre of Palestinians and the emptying of Gaza, or the relocation of the displaced to the Sinai Desert in Egypt, once again clearing Gaza of its inhabitants.

A multi-week truce, without guarantees for its continuation, provides the media and propaganda systems of the US, Israel, and their allies with the opportunity to claim that Tel Aviv has adhered to the vote of the UN Security Council out of respect for regulations.

Israel still expects that the temporary truce will partially control anger in the West Bank, Holy Qods, and Occupied Territories, preventing the occurrence of an uprising or Intifada.

Amidst a challenging rivalry with Donald Trump, Joe Biden is pursuing two goals with the notion of a temporary truce: first, to repair the humanitarian and damaged aspects of his personality, and second, to give Israel a free hand for attacks on Rafah following the truce.

From this perspective, the US-Israeli suggestion for a temporary truce during Ramadan is like a "Trojan Horse," in the best-case scenario, and an opportunity for igniting a spark in a volatile environment with the aim of causing an explosion in the worst-case scenario.
