NOURNEWS- An immigrant has died in the British “Bibby Stockholm” boat on the south coast of this country, which has been turned into a temporary place for immigrants. Some English media circles have called this tragedy a suicide; However, according to “Richard Drax”, the representative of the region in the parliament, this “tragedy” is the result of an “impossible situation”.
This immigrant lost his life in a situation which in August of this year, when this boat was launched to accommodate 500 refugees, from the fire department to human rights organizations had received warnings many times about its unsettled situation, but the insistence of the British leaders on implementing the resettlement plan, or rather “imprisoning the immigrants in this boat” led to this disaster.
The transfer of the first batch of refugees to this ship was very controversial; because on the same day Legionella bacteria, which is a dangerous infection, was detected in the ship's water sources; As a result, three days after the transfer of immigrants to this boat; They were taken off the said boat but returned to it in early fall.
Some human rights organizations have considered this act as a crime and a violation of international laws and the 1951 Refugee Convention. The vessel has a capacity of 222 people but is overcrowded with 500 immigrants, turning the small rooms into solitary confinement where there is no privacy.
When this vessel was launched, the media affiliated with Britain's royal family such as “BBC” tried to make this ship look like a safe and desirable place for immigrants and to give a human touch to this transfer. By showing images from the inside of this vessel and saying sentences describing the facilities of Bibby Stockholm, such as a TV viewing room, a place for prayer and worship, a swimming pool, a gym, etc., the BBC suggested that this ship is a favorable place for immigrants seeking refuge in England.
The situation of “Bibby Stockholm” is so critical after a few months that even the BBC now has no choice but to acknowledge the facts of what is happening there. In a report quoting an Iranian youth who was transferred to this vessel, this media stated that this ship gives its residents the feeling of “Alcatraz prison” and that the mental health of people in it is in danger.
But instead of learning from this tragedy, British government officials are looking to implement new plans against immigrants, which even many judicial and social institutions in Britain refer to as a big crime.
The approval and persistent pursuit of the controversial “illegal migration” bill by the British government to transfer immigrants to Rwanda under the pretext of processing their request is one of London's most important actions in the refugee issue, which has drawn a lot of criticism even from the internal institutions of this country.
Rwanda is a country that is facing many crises and disturbances, and civil institutions have equated the transfer of refugees to this country with their deaths and described this decision as a death sentence. Now the important question is how the British government, which cannot save the lives of 500 immigrants in a boat on the British coast, claims that it will protect the lives of the said people and other immigrants in Rwanda?
At the same time as the death of this IMMIGRANT and the approval of the refugee transfer bill in the parliament, in promotional and deceptive action “Charles III”, the King of Britain, awarded “Nooralhaq Nasimi”, an immigrant from Afghanistan and the founder of the charity organization “Afghanistan and Central Asia Association” based in London a Member of the British Empire (MBE) because of his services to immigrants, but the theater did nothing to ease concerns about the fate of immigrants in the country.
In any case, what is seen today in England towards immigrants, such as the expulsion from hotels and the kidnapping of immigrant children from these centers to the death of people stationed on the Bibby Stockholm and the passing of the transfer bill to Rwanda, shows the bitter truth that this country not only does not have the right to speak about human rights but rather, it should be held accountable and punished for its inhuman behavior towards immigrants.
