Details of Iran’s FM meeting with Mohammed bin Salman

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the foreign minister of Iran emphasized on Islamic Republic of Iran’s will and its determination to expand its relation with countries of the region and Saudi Arabia during his meeting with Mohammed bin Salman the Crown Prince and prime minister of Saudi Arabia.

Amir-Abdollahian while emphasizing on the opportunities ahead of the two countries, said: The Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia can make the region grow and flourish as a whole, with the all-round development of two countries’ cooperation in fields such as politics, economy, trade, transit, science and technology, culture.

Amir-Abdollahian while referring to the developments in the international system, said: Today we are facing a historical responsibility. Expressing the achievements and capacities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he added: The way for the region to succeed is to strengthen dialogue and cooperation and increase development-oriented cooperation.

Iran’s FM, while referring to the position and role of Iran and Saudi Arabia in the region and the Islamic world, mentioned the issue of Palestine and Jerusalem as the central issue of the Islamic world and considered the Zionist regime a threat and danger to everyone.

Amir-Abdollahian emphasized on the importance of endogenous and sustainable security in the region.

Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince and PM of Saudi Arabia, while conveying his and Sultan of Saudi Arabia’s greetings to the Supreme Leader of the revolution and the President of Iran, said: Saudi Arabia regards its relationship with Iran as strategic-oriented relations, and Riyadh has a serious determination regarding its relations with Tehran.

The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia emphasized on the invitation of the President of Iran to visit Saudi Arabia, and considered the meeting between the heads of the two countries very important and, said that these meetings will have significant effects on the development and deepening of bilateral and multilateral relations.

Some regional and international issues were also discussed in this meeting.
