Britain's envoy slammed over his tweet regarding the terror attack on Shiraz

Iranian Ambassador to Baku, Abbas Mousavi, has criticized the British envoy’s failure to label the deadly attack at the Shah Cheragh shrine as a terrorist attack.

NOURNEWS- Iranian Ambassador to Baku, Abbas Mousavi, has criticized the British envoy’s failure to label the deadly attack at the Shah Cheragh shrine as a terrorist attack.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, UK Ambassador to Tehran, Simon Shercliff, expressed his sadness over “the news of yesterday’s events in Shiraz.”

In response to that post, Mousavi wrote, “Mr. Ambassador! Minimizing terrorism to violence or an incident is in line with your Westerners’ tendency to categorize it as good and bad.”

“While you call knife fights in London terrorist [attacks], you turn a blind eye to naked terrorism” in other countries, he said.

He also reminded the British envoy that had it not been for the sacrifices of Iran’s anti-terror hero, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated by the US military in 2020, “you would be collecting corpses in the streets of London every day.”

On Sunday evening, a terrorist went on a shooting spree at the Shah Cheragh holy shrine in the southern Iranian province of Fars, killing at least two people and injuring several others.

In addition to the terrorist, Iran has so far arrested 10 suspects linked to the incident, saying that they are all of foreign origin.
