NOURNEWS- Recently, "Linda Thomas Greenfield", the US ambassador to the UN, expressed concern about the military cooperation between Iran and Russia and, she has claimed; Sending Iranian drones to Russia is a violation of Security Council Resolution 2231 and helps to continue Russia's war against Ukraine.
These positions show that the White House’s officials apparently cannot hide their anger and displeasure regarding the incompatibility of international realities with their macro strategies and even their tactical and short-term goals.
When facing these circumstances, the American officials usually try to divert the world's public opinion towards their failures and defeats in the battlefields and conflicts that they themselves had a hand in creating by presenting inverted, incomplete and false interpretations of international rules and treaties.
There are several important points regarding the repetition of this American game:
First; Basically, due to withdrawing from the JCPOA as the basis for issuing UN Security Council Resolution 2231, the American authorities do not have the right to comment or operationally interpret this resolution, because Washington cannot bypass most of Resolution 2231 and include only a small part of it for misinterpreting it.
The second point is related to the legal dimension of the American ambassador in UN’s claim; Due to the removal of some restrictions related to Iran's arms exchange in 2020 according to the same resolution 2231, a part of the military relations between Iran and other countries including Russia have been formed and, this issue was not and is will not be aimed at the war in Ukraine.
In other words; The military cooperation between Iran and Russia is not primarily aimed at the war in Ukraine, and the origin of this cooperation was not the occurrence of this war, and the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards the war in Ukraine and even numerous efforts to create peace are evidence of this claim.
According to the mentioned points; Greenfield has made two false claims, one of which is related to the type and nature of the arms cooperation between Iran and Russia, and the other is related to the non-compliance of this cooperation with Security Council Resolution 2231.
In recent years, the US and European authorities have tried many times to disrupt this path by claiming that Iran's missile tests or our country's arms deals do not comply with Security Council Resolution 2231, but their legal arguments in this regard have met with a closed door and failed miserably.
Misinterpretation of Security Council resolutions by the US and its allies has had a history record and, we are witnessing the repetition of this game of trickery, so it is better for the American ambassador to the UN to talk about the resolution that Washington is the only accused of violating, she should answer for the failure of the maximum pressure strategy of the former and current governments of this country against the Islamic Republic of Iran and its people!
