NOURNEWS- On Monday, July 31St, a meeting was held in Doha between the American officials and the Taliban, in which some related subjects were discussed.
In this meeting, the Taliban delegation led by Maulvi "Amir Khan Muttaqi", the interim foreign minister of Taliban, representatives of the Ministry of Economy and the Bank of Afghanistan, and the 15-person American delegation headed by "Thomas West", Washington's special representative for Afghanistan affairs, were present.
From the summer of 2021 until today, the Americans have always claimed that they did not recognize the Taliban, and with this title, they imposed sanctions and even blocked 7 billion dollars of Afghan assets.
But now, "Vedant Patel", the spokesperson of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has said, "We have always stated that we will negotiate with the Taliban wherever it is in the interests of the US."
This remark shows that the Americans do not care about the fate of the Afghan people and the pain and suffering they have suffered due to the 20 years of the occupation and their lack of commitment after leaving.
At the current stage, the focus of negotiations with the Taliban was not the lifting of sanctions nor any some sort of help for meeting the needs of millions of Afghan citizens, but the release of two American citizens, as the US State Department announced that they demanded the immediate and unconditional release of their two American citizens in Doha.
This behavior of the Biden government is reminiscent of Trump's performance and attitude in negotiating and agreeing with the Taliban in 2020 with the claim of reducing attacks on American forces.
This similarity of behavior shows that for both the Democratic and Republican parties, interference in the affairs of countries is a fixed procedure and the violation of the rights of nations and the death of millions of people due to hunger and poverty is of no importance to them.
On the other hand; Although the claim of supporting the freedom of women and their social activities is always the focus of American rulers' propaganda to intervene in other countries, but in practice, such an issue is basically not a priority, as in the statement of the US State Department about the Doha meeting, the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan are mentioned only once, and it was ignored rather quickly.
One of the important lessons of this meeting for the current rulers of Afghanistan is that; In order to overcome its problems, instead of relying on the West, it should take a step towards greater interaction with its neighboring countries, which during the years of occupation of Afghanistan and after that always considered its security, stability and prosperity as a priority with a comprehensive and humane view of this country, Afghanistan neighboring countries, In addition to providing humanitarian aid, have hosted millions of homeless Afghan refugees.
On the other hand; The Americans started negotiating with the Taliban only for their own interests, while they do not recognize this same right for other countries and reject the relations of other countries with the ruling government of Kabul with seemingly human rights claims and even impose sanctions against other countries.
This approach, due to the self-interested unilateralism of the US, is not only unwilling to accept the interests of other countries, but in many cases, with intervention and divisive movements, it follows the strategy of creating conflict between countries based on its own interests, which is reflected in the performance of the US in relation to Iran and Pakistan can be seen in relation to Afghanistan.
The reaction of the Western media to the Doha negotiations is also interesting, how, without mentioning the problems of the Afghan people - caused by the warmongering and occupation of the West - they are trying to make America the savior and supporter of Afghan women and girls with gestures of human rights and relying on keywords such as "women's rights".
However, at the same time, these media have reduced the level of Afghan women's demands as a symbol of Muslim women's demands to the extent of reopening hairdressing salons, as BBC Persian states in its report: "The Taliban has ordered the closure of all women's hairdressing salons. Beauty salons were one of the few remaining public places that women had access to."
These media also follow the usual policy of the West in showing a harsh and anti-human image of Islam during the coverage of the Doha meeting, as in another part of the BBC Persian report, while placing the Taliban as the absolute symbol of "Islamic rule", it is stated:" The Taliban has ordered that, women should dress so that only their eyes are visible and if they travel more than 72 kilometers, they should be accompanied by a male relative."
