NOURNEWS- In a move that will definitely be accompanied by the opposition and protest of many non-governmental organizations and citizens of the Green Continent, the European leaders have agreed to give access of the American intelligence and security institutions to the personal information of European citizens!
European officials claim that after receiving some ostensible assurances about how US intelligence agencies have access to user data, as well as creating a redress mechanism for EU residents, Brussels recently announced that the transfer of users' personal data to the US can now be done in a legal way.
The agreement, known as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, also allows European citizens to file complaints whenever they feel their personal data has been improperly collected by US intelligence agencies.
The non-governmental organization "European Center for Digital Rights" headed by " Maximilian Schrems ", a privacy activist who successfully challenged the previous adequacy votes in 2020, has announced that he has once again will give his complaint to the court.
The main question here is what guarantees have the American intelligence agencies provided to the EU regarding access to the personal information of European citizens?
Of course, the European security institutions do not give the answer to this question exactly, because if these guarantees are judged by the public opinion, their interpretability and generality will become more evident!
Beyond that; European officials say that European citizens can submit their complaints to legal and judicial institutions if their information is improperly collected by the United States, a statement that is an example of a mockery of European citizens by the European Union.
Undoubtedly, even if a complaint is filed in this regard, it will be subjected to deliberate misinterpretation by the Western security institutions in the very initial stages, and the case will be deemed "incompetent to investigate".
The more important point is that; Even if it is proven that America's unconventional spying on the information and data of European citizens - from personal conversations to their bank accounts - there is definitely no guarantee of punishing the American security institutions.
Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, who is the originator of this information betrayal, wrote in a tweet that expresses her absolute lack of commitment to the privacy of European citizens: "I welcome the important commitments that the US has made. So that citizens can be sure that their data is safe and we can deepen our economic relations!"
She talks about the important obligations of the US, while for many years, senior officials of American security institutions have not responded to European intelligence and official institutions even for spying on senior European officials and even for wiretapping some people, including former Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel.
With this explanation; Now, when the access of the American spy agencies to the data and information of European citizens becomes legal, the real story behind this betrayal will become clearer in the future.
