36th Int’l Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran: President of Algerian High Islamic Council Ghoulamallah taking part

The SG of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hujjatul Islam Hamid Shahriari, has extended an invitation to the President of the HIC, Abdellah Ghlamallah, to participate in the 36th International Conference of Islamic Unity, which will see the participation of 200 personalities from the Islamic world, the statement said.
NOURNEWS - The President of the High Islamic Council (HCI), Abdellah Ghoulamallah, will attend, by videoconference, the work of the 36th International Conference of Islamic Unity, which is being held until 14 in Tehran (Iran), indicated, Monday, a press release from the body. The SG of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hujjatul Islam Hamid Shahriari, has extended an invitation to the President of the HIC, Abdellah Ghlamallah, to participate in the 36th International Conference of Islamic Unity, which will see the participation of 200 personalities from the Islamic world, the statement said. The conference is being held on the occasion of the celebration of the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammed (PBUH). Mr. Ghlamallah will deliver a speech on “the values ​​of Islam in promoting dialogue and the diffusion of peace”, in addition to “the historical experience of Algeria in its various stages, where it succeeded in spreading Islam and putting an end to conflicts and wars in several regions of the world,” the same source added. The President of the HIC will evoke, in his speech, “the constants and unwavering and principled positions of Algeria in favor of the just causes of the peoples, as well as its efforts aimed at helping the oppressed peoples, highlighting the values ​​of its history and the achievements of the Glorious Revolution of Liberation,” the statement concluded. Peace and war, Islamic fraternity, countering terrorism, religious free thinking, mutual respect among Islamic schools of thought, Islamic empathy and sympathy, avoiding disrespect, quarrels and insults, avoiding tensions and conflicts, and countering normalization with the Zionists are among the main themes of this year’s conference. Last year, Mr. Ghlamallah delivered a speech, recalling Algeria’s inalienable and constant principles, namely; non-interference in the internal affairs of States, in addition to being compelled to cooperate with total respect for territorial, economic and governance sovereignty. The former Minister of Religious Affairs and Waks “Endowment” pleaded for unity and living together, without clashes and conflicts”. He urged the nations participating in the event to prioritize the unity of the ranks, solidarity and mutual aid. He also warned against the hegemony of Zionist ideology over Islam. He evoked a danger that will lead, if not countered, to the dislocation of this religion into various dogmas, as Christianity has been divided into several churches (Anglican, Protestant, Orthodox …), owing to the impetus of the Zionist lobbies. “The premises of the phenomenon are starting to appear,” he alerted. He cited, among others, the transfer of the Embassy of the United States of America from Tel Aviv to El Quds, dissemination of blasphemous cartoons on the prophets and the process of normalization of diplomatic and economic relations between Arab countries and the Zionist Entity (Abraham’s Accord). For Abdallah Ghoulamallah, the Muslim community should absolutely come out of its lethargy and become aware “of the strength of its human resource and of its economic and geographic potentials as well as its spiritual strength which will enable it to act according to the precepts of the Holy Coran”. Coinciding with the beginning of Unity Week, the international unity conference is being held in-person and virtually with the participation of a group of Islamic thinkers and scholars from different countries. The main objective of the conference is to devise ways of unity for the Islamic world, and likewise sympathy/consultation between scholars and experts in order to approach their viewpoints in intended fields. The subjects of its meetings are determined based on diverge issues/problems of the Islamic world. Among the topics of the conference are: war and just peace; Islamic brotherhood and fight against terrorism; religious freedom; welcoming religious Ijtihad and countering takfir and extremism; mutual respect between Islamic sects; respecting the differences and avoiding disputes. Following the announcement of the week of unity by the founder of Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini (RA) and based on the strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in enhancing unity among Muslims, the International Islamic Unity Conference, has been held with prominent scholars from the globe in attendance. The aim of the holding of this conference is to enhance unity and solidarity among Muslims, and achieve the consensus of scholars with a view to approximating their scientific and cultural views, as well as reviewing and presenting practical solutions to achieve unity, form a united Ummah in the Islamic world and provide solutions to the all-out problems of Muslims. Since 1990, Islamic Advertisement Organization was in charge of holding four of the conference, but after the establishment of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought by the order of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, this Forum became responsible for the mission of holding this important conference. Conference guests are chosen from amongst the elites and educated figures, the ministers of Muslim countries, scholars and muftis, university professors and other academic and cultural communities inside and outside the Republic. Hundreds of thinkers, scholars and reformers from around the world and thousands of Shia and Sunni scholars from different parts of Iran have participated in the conference and presented their lectures. From Algeria, this year’s edition is witnessing the participation of the several professors, doctors, thinkers and writers, namely, among others, Mr. Abdallah Ghoulamallah, Mr. Noureddine Abou lahia, and Miss. Hana Saada.
