Introduction to Tourist Attractions of Iranian Cities

Bahman, a small town in Fars Province and a district of Abadeh County.

Bahman is a small town in Fars Province and one of the districts of Abadeh County. The town lies along the north–south highway of Fars, and due to its geographical location has always played a connecting role between the central and southern regions of Iran.

Bahman has a relatively mild, mountainous climate, and the livelihood of its people rests on farming, orcharding, and animal husbandry. Crops such as wheat and barley, along with vineyards and almond orchards, form the backbone of the local economy. Traditional handicrafts are still practiced among the residents.

Notable and valuable attractions of Bahman include:

  •
  • Band-e Bahman (the ancient dam) near Kavar: a remnant from the Achaemenid or Sassanid era, built on the Qarah-Aghaj River. This historic structure stands up to 9 meters high and stretches about 130 meters in length—and even in spring provides a lush and pleasant setting.
  • The old texture of the town and its adobe houses
  • The mountainous nature and surrounding landscapes
  • Farmlands and local orchards
  • The rituals and cultural traditions of the people of the region

Bahman is a quiet, native town in northern Fars, which, with its mountainous nature, fertile agriculture, and authentic local culture, embodies a part of the historical and cultural identity of Fars Province.
