Araghchi, who has traveled to Moscow at the head of a diplomatic delegation for consultations with high-ranking Russian officials, called on Putin on Thursday afternoon.
The minister presented the Leader’s message to the president of Russia and explained the views and positions of the Islamic Republic regarding issues on the agenda of bilateral relations, as well as regional and international developments.
Araghchi touched on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty signed by President Putin and his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian in Moscow in January.
He called it as “the most important manifestation of cooperation” between the two countries, emphasizing Iran’s determination to strengthen and expand bilateral relations with the Russian federation at all levels.
President Putin conveyed his greetings and well wishes for the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between Iran and Russia.
He said that strengthening ties between the two countries, along with their cooperation and coordination on regional and international issues, will serve the interests of both nations and help maintain and strengthen peace and stability.
In addition to bilateral relations, regional issues and existing threats, the latest status of negotiations on Ukraine, Iran's nuclear issue, and international issues were discussed during the meeting.
