NOURNEWS: The body of Martyr Raisi was transferred to Mashhad for funeral and burial after the funeral ceremony in Birjand. Ayatollah Alamolhoda and the family of Martyr Raisi also arrived in Mashhad  and were welcomed by the provincial officials and the appreciative people of Mashhad.

About 3 million people have reportedly taken part in the funeral ceremony of martyred President Ebrahim Raisi and his companion in Mashhad, said Mohammad Reza Qalandar-Sharif, the mayor of Mashhad.

"The vehicle carrying the bodies of the martyrs is moving slowly because of the crowd," he added.

The funeral ceremony for the martyrs of service began at noon and afternoon prayers. According to the announced schedule, before the Maghrib prayers, the body of Martyr Raisi will be transferred to the holy shrine of Imam Reza and buried in the Darosalam area of the shrine.

The body of Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raisi rests in peace in Darosalam, adjacent to the Imam Reza Shrine, after circumambulation around the holy shrine.
