NOURNEWS: In reaction to last night’s operation against the Zionist Regime, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in an interview that, “Iran’s military forces targeted a military base hosting F35 airplanes of the Zionist Regime, from where the operation against the consular section of Iran’s embassy in Damascus occurred, with precise calculations and utilizing precision-guided drones and missiles.

“Additionally, another operation was conducted at the intelligence center of the regime, which has been directing all operations for the past six months, including the recent attack against Iran,” Amir-Abdollahian added.

The FM clarified, “Our limited, legitimate defense and punishment of the Zionist Regime means that we did not define any non-military targets for our response, and no residential or commercial targets were targeted by our military forces. Even the attack on the military base, as the center of the Zionist Regime’s operation against the consular section of Iran’s embassy, was carefully and precisely planned.”

He added, “72 hours before the operation, we informed our friends in the regional countries that Iran’s response, within legitimate defense, is certain and firm so that the security of the region and our neighbors is the security of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Amir-Abdollahian emphasized, “We declared to our brothers and friends in the region hosting the US’s military bases that we aim at legitimate defense to punish the Zionist Regime, not seeking to target American individuals or military bases in the region. We emphasized that we have never welcomed the escalation of tensions in the region. We warned that if the United States uses the space or countries of interest for defending or biased supporting of Tel Aviv, the military base of the US in that country will be targeted inevitably.”

Amir-Abdollahian said, “We appreciate our neighbors and brothers in the regional countries for receiving our message and advising the US and other parts to remove any war from their lands and territories.”

Amir-Abdollahian emphasized that Iran is committed to the safety of neighboring and regional countries, with President Ebrahim Raisi’s neighboring policy being among the priorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“Our armed forces have been waiting for about 10 days for our diplomatic efforts and those of our colleagues in the international arena. In the past 72 hours, various foreign ministers have contacted me, advising Iran to exercise restraint and refrain from legitimate defense and punishing the Zionist regime. However, we reminded the foreign ministers of the recipient countries that, "I wish in the past 6 months you had presented this self-restraint advice to the warmongering rulers of the Israeli regime, who have committed war crimes against the residents of Gaza, marking a contemporary genocide. How is it that you do not advise them to exercise restraint, but you advise Iran, which intends to legitimately defend its recognized diplomatic missions and the immunity of diplomatic premises?,” Amir-Abdollahian said.
