NOURNEWS: The Foreign Minister stated that within the next few weeks, we will witness a significant increase in the volume of trade between Iran and Turkmenistan. He also announced that the two countries have reached a deal regarding the exchange of prisoners.

The Foreign Minister mentioned that the necessary preparations are underway for the upcoming trip of the Iranian president to Ashgabat. He noted that both sides reviewed the progress made on the deals agreed upon by the heads of the two countries during their meeting in Tehran.

According to the Minister, both parties also exchanged views on collaboration in various fields, ranging from energy, transit, and transportation to science and technology. The Minister further stated that a committee has been assigned to oversee agreements concerning the issue of water rights of Turkmenistan from the Friendship Dam, which has been affected by Afghanistan's upstream programs.

In addition, he highlighted that the two countries have had collaborations in the fields of electricity and gas in the past, which are set to expand in the future.
